Whatever the Islamic State may control in terms of te rritory these days, it is certainly putting a dent   in the coffers of the U.S. government and its coalition allies. In this week’s news bulletin from it official network al-Naba, the terror group published a graphic claiming to show the cost to the U.S.-led coalition  established two years ago , for carrying out airstrikes on ISIS targets in Iraq and Syria. The group claims the U.S.-led campaign carries a price tag of $8.5 billion in total, with $12 million a day spent solely on airstrikes. The group’s numbers are actually not that far off from the reality. New statistics released  by the Pentagon put the number at around the same–over $8 billion, or $11.8 million a day, and $8,206 a minute since the Obama administration initiated airstrikes against ISIS in August 2014, Vocativ reported. The crisis in Iraq deepened with a triple suicide bombing today, as Kurdish fighters in Kobane continued their resistance against Islamic State jihadis.      Iraq’s ethnic and sectarian turmoil deepened today when a triple suicide bombing killed dozens in a Kurdish-controlled town and a police chief was assassinated in the country’s embattled Anbar province. At least 28 people were killed when three car bombs killed struck the town of Qara Tapah today, according to the mayor and security officials. Qara Tapah lies close to Jalawla, a key battleground northeast of Baghdad between pro-government forces and Islamic State (Isil) militias.

South African police are investigating two Nigerians and an Israeli citizen who tried to bring $9.3 million in cash into the country illegally, a spokesman said on Monday. There were suspicions that the money could be meant for arms. The Nigerians, coming from Abuja, were not identified, according to a report by Reuters. The plane, a Bombardier Challenger 600, had a Nigerian flight crew on board. It was piloted by Captain Tunde Ojongbede, according to City Press.

20-year-old single mother, Onyi Chiedozie, who said she is amazed at how her daughter is capable of holding the feeding bottle on her own said she ‘grabbed’ her bottle during a feed and held it to her mouth. Amara at three days old actually started feeding herself, now at three weeks old she regularly holds her bottle all by herself and pushes it aside when she is full up. Meanwhile, the new mother, Onyi, who said she is using a combination of breast and bottle feeding, said everyone is amazed by the feat. According to  a strong-worded statement signed by MURIC leader, Professor Isiaq Akintola, and made public on Monday, 25 August 2014, t he group said it is un-Islamic for the terror group to have made such declaration. A town in the north east of Nigeria is under an 'Islamic caliphate', according to Boko Haram's leader which the Nigerian military denies  Boko Haram's leader said a town in the north east of Nigeria seized by the insurgents earlier this month has been placed under an Islamic caliphate, in a video obtained by AFP on Sunday. "Thanks be to Allah who gave victory to our brethren in (the town of) Gwoza and made it part of the Islamic caliphate," Abubakar Shekau said in the 52-minute video.
