Afghan goalkeeper Faqiryar among Top 10 Asian players of 2013

Mansur Faqiryar, has made it into the Top 10 Asian players of 2013.
The website has released the names of the top players based on their extraordinary performances during the year. According to the report, Faqiryar got plenty of credit when he led Afghanistan to the South Asian title in September, despite the fact that many goalkeepers do not receive the credit they deserve.
In its report, ESPN said that although solid in the group stage, he was excellent in the semi final win over hosts Nepal and in the final against holders India. He helped to bring a smile to the face of Afghanistan, and you can’t ask for much more than that, according to the website. Although his position was something of a shock, there was nothing surprising about the form of this Germany-based goalie.
The top players in ESPN’s list includes; Reza Ghoochannejhad, Shinji okazaki, Omar Abdulrahman, Javad Nekounam, Kim Young-gwon, Yoichiro Kakitani, Zheng Zhi, Ali Adnan, and Son Heung-min.
Mansur Faqiryar has also been nominated to receive the best athlete of the year, and North Athlete of the Year Awards in Germany.
The winner of the award will be selected based on a poll conducted by Germany’s NDR Television Network.
