As Iraq burns, Islamic State jihadis forced to pour reinforcements into Kobane

The crisis in Iraq deepened with a triple suicide bombing today, as Kurdish fighters in Kobane continued their resistance against Islamic State jihadis. Iraq’s ethnic and sectarian turmoil deepened today when a triple suicide bombing killed dozens in a Kurdish-controlled town and a police chief was assassinated in the country’s embattled Anbar province. At least 28 people were killed when three car bombs killed struck the town of Qara Tapah today, according to the mayor and security officials. Qara Tapah lies close to Jalawla, a key battleground northeast of Baghdad between pro-government forces and Islamic State (Isil) militias.
